12 nations discuss sites for Olympics alternative

Officials of 12 governments began two days of talks in Geneva Monday on sites for possible alternative international sports festivals for athletes who boycott the Moscow Olympic Games next July. The meeting, organized by Australia, the United State's and Britain, was held in private in the British diplomatic mission to the United Nations in Geneva.

Countries taking part in addition to the three initiators were Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Sudan. Canada and the Philippines sent observers, a British spokesman said.
