Mexican policewomen remove protesters

February 25, 1980

Unarmed policewomen Saturday peacefully removed peasants who had occupied the Danish and Belgian embassies for six days to press for the release of 26 people they called political prisoners, authorities said.

A communique issued by the Interior Ministry said unarmed policewomen were sent to the missions at the request of the Belgian and Danish governments to remove the peasants. No trouble was reported.
