Eric Heiden streaks to his third gold medal

Eric Heiden of the United States won his third speed skating gold medal and Ingemark Stenmark of Sweden captured the giant slalom, in Tuesday's Winter Olympics highlights.

Heiden added the 1,000-meter gold to his 500- and 5,000-meter victories. Gaetan Boucher of Canada was second, with Vladimir Lobanov of the USSR and Frade Roenning of Norway sharing the bronze.

Stenmark ended years of frustration by winning his first Olympic gold. Andreas Wenzel of Liechtenstein was second and Hans Enn of Austria, third.
