No more icicles on eaves

To the real estate editor: Electric heat tape on the lower edge of a roof will solve the ice problem but it is expensive and takes lots of Btus.
The best solution is to remove the finish board under the eaves and install a wire screen. I used to have icicles 12 feet long on my house. Now I never have them and it also saves electricity. Bradley M. Cooper Littleton, N.H.
