What college students seek

February 11, 1980

Three outstanding desires have shown up in a new nationwide survey to identify goals of 190,000 US college freshmen. These are career recognition from colleagues, administrative responsibility over work of others, and being "financially well-off."

The poll conducted by the University of California at Los Angeles and the American Council on Education said that for the first time in over a decade, more than half of those interviewed were interested in peer opinions and in giving executive assistance to others.
