Farm Bureau urges US take tougher Soviet stand

January 11, 1980

The American Farm Bureau is urging all Americans to share the burden of retaliation against the Soviet Union, urging a break in all cultural and economic ties with Russia and a boycott of the 1980 Moscow Olympics. In a meeting Wednesday, delegates of the Farm Bureau Federation also adopted "emergency" measures they urged Congress and the Carter administration to adopt in hopes of buffering the pinch they face from the nation's embargo on grain sales to Russia.
