More than 80,000 suggestions for an anti-Rush Limbaugh slogan were emailed to the Democratic National Committee in the past week. The DNC will announce today the winning slogan which will be placed on a billboard in the radio host's hometown.

Setting a world record today for beating a dead horse, the Democratic National Committee will announce they've selected an anti-Rush Limbaugh slogan to be placed on a billboard in the radio host's hometown.

The DNC began soliciting slogans a week ago in response to Limbaugh's well-known statement that he wants President Obama to fail.

"If you're anything like me, then you've had the urge to talk back to a right-wing talk radio host more than a few times. Now you can," reads an email blast from the executive director of the DNC. "Can you help us come up with a message for Rush that we'll place on a billboard right in his hometown?"

The envelope please

That message has been decided. CNN is reporting that the billboard will say, "Americans didn't vote for a Rush to failure."

Apparently more than 80,000 slogans were emailed in and astonishingly all were somehow deemed worse than that one.

Stand your ground

Despite the outcry over Limbaugh's assertion, the radio host - unlike Republican leaders who have criticized him - hasn't backed down.

"What is so strange about being honest to say that I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation? Why would I want that to succeed?" Limbaugh told supporters at the Conservative Political Action Conference two weeks ago.

What about Carville?

By the way, Limbaugh isn't alone in wanting a president to fail. James Carville is guilty as well. He had similar wishes for President George W. Bush eight years ago.

“I hope he doesn’t succeed, but I am a partisan Democrat," Carville said of Bush. "But the average person wants him to succeed. It is his country, his life or their lives. So he has that going for him.”
