Fort Gillem and other Army officials are investigating the shooting death of an Army reservist at the military base south of Atlanta, Georgia. US Army Forces Command Public Affairs Officer Colonel Dan Baggio (r.) gives a statement to media at the entrance to Fort Gillem, on Thursday.

Army officials are investigating the shooting death of an Army reservist at a military base south of Atlanta. Another reservist is in custody.

Army spokesman Col. Dan Baggio said the victim died Thursday at the U.S. Army Reserve Center located at Fort Gillem. He did not offer specifics.

The shooting happened between 4:30 and 5 p.m. at the center, which is a gathering place for area reserve units.

Authorities withheld the names of the soldiers until they could notify family members, but did say both were men.

Authorities have not determined a motive and it's unclear what the relationship was between the two men. Nobody else was injured.

A spokesman for Fort Gillem said the reserve center is located on the post but does not share the same command.
