Mall of Louisiana shut down after flash mob brawl
Mall of Louisiana: A flash mob of 200 teenagers turned violent in the food court. Police arrested six teens and the Mall of Louisiana was shut down early Sunday night.
Baton Rouge, La. — Six teenagers have been arrested in a mass brawl that sparked a stampede and the evacuation of a shopping mall in Louisiana.
A woman who asked not to be identified told MSNEWS Now that she was in the food court with her one-year-old son when the large fight broke out. "People were jumping over my tables and other tables and knocked over my baby stroller," she said. "I grabbed my son and took off running but all the doors to the stores were closed. I ran through a side door into the parking lot and ran around trying to find my car," she said.
East Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies arrested three boys and three girls, ages 13 to 15.
Spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks tells The Advocate the six were booked on several charges, including disturbing the peace, simple battery and resisting an officer.
Hicks said deputies were still investigating how the fight started. No injuries were reported.
Deputies were told that there was a post on social media website Instagram inviting people to show up at the mall, Rayborn-Hicks added.
