Clean energy technology developed in the US or by its allies is an especially intense focus of foreign industrial spies right now, a new report finds.

Boosting domestic production is usually a key aim for industrial spies. Their focus on particular technologies vary depending on where their governments expect a surge of investment. One especially hot area right now involves clean technologies. Systems that "produce reduced carbon dioxide and other emissions will be the fastest growing investment sectors in nine of 11 countries recently surveyed by a US consulting company, a survey that included China, France, and India," the report found.
