“The Bone Clocks” writer David Mitchell is coming out with a new novel – and if you follow him on Twitter, you’ve already received a preview.
Mitchell’s book “Slade House,” which will be released by Random House in October, reportedly came from a short story titled “The Right Sort” that Mitchell published on his Twitter account in July. However, the short format wasn’t enough for the story, the author said in a statement.
“Scenes grew, bred and sprouted new scenes until ‘The Right Sort’ passed the 6,000 word mark and announced itself as part one of a five-part novel,” Mitchell said.
The new novel will take place in the same universe as Mitchell’s book “The Bone Clocks,” according to the New York Times, and the book will “is the thrilling story of a haunted house and the five individuals who over the course of thirty-five years disappear inside,” Random House said in a statement.
Mitchell is also the author of such works as “Cloud Atlas” and “The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet.”
