'Shafted: Free Trade and America’s Working Poor'

Shafted: Free Trade and America’s Working Poor by Christine Ahn is testimony before Congress for the 2002 reauthorization of the Farm Bill. The voices of farmers, farm workers, and workers in industry testifying to the deleterious effects of NAFTA and the WTO, and the reasons we should care about the farm bill, remain effective today. Listening at length to talking heads discussing the farm bill comes nowhere close to understanding the ins and outs of this legislation as hearing these voices from the trenches.
