Russia's government termed "ridiculous" allegations contained in unclassified Iraqi documents that Russian intelligence may have fed information about US troop movements and battle plans to former dictator Saddam Hussein. Speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the US will raise the issue with the Kremlin and that she hopes the "Russians will take it seriously."

The rush to beat the implementation of a new personal bankruptcy law last October caused a 30 percent surge in filings last year, the largest spike in history, according to data released by the Administrative Office of the US Courts. Personal bankruptcies exceeded 2 million for the first time. But they have fallen sharply this year as the more stringent law, making it more difficult to erase credit card and other debts, has its intended result.

An unidentified man invited to a zombie-themed party in Seattle fatally shot six people and critically injured another before taking his own life.
