Who wait upon -

After the risk is taken,

the challenge given

allow for the lull,

for the blank suspension

of all action

until - like

glittering legions summoned

from a ring of ramparts

hard against heaven -

the forces are drawn

on to the field chosen:

and there felled

by no man's weapon.
