Sunday 1/21

Louis L'Amour's 'Crossfire Trail' (TNT, 8-10 p.m.): Novelist L'Amour still rules the range in this western tale of chivalry and gunplay. Though the story is predictable, it is satisfying. Tom Selleck plays a sort of knight errant who promises a dying friend to protect his ranch and his wife from the black-hatted villains. Fun for western buffs.

The Golden Globe Awards (NBC, 8-11 p.m.): The 58th annual awards show promises to be enjoyable with stars from the big and small screens vying for recognition. Mel Gibson, Tom Hanks, Jim Carrey, Kelsey Grammer, Martin Sheen, and Sela Ward have all been nominated.

Monday 1/22

The Book of Pooh (Disney Channel, 7-8 p.m.): The series premiere takes little ones back to the Hundred Acre Wood for adventures with Pooh and his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit, and Eeyore. In the first gentle tale, Pooh thinks he can grant his friends fantastic wishes, but finds out what is really possible.
