SATURDAY 11/6

World Golf Championship (ABC, 1-3:30 p.m.): For many professional golfers, seven titles is a career. For Tiger Woods, it's a season. Woods, the most successful player on the PGA Tour in 25 years, will bid for his eighth title of the year amid a picturesque setting of cork trees and gardens at the Valderrama Golf Club in Spain.

SUNDAY 11/7

Annie (ABC, 7-9 p.m.): The often-revived musical stars Kathy Bates as the hysterical Miss Hannigan, Alan Cumming as Rooster, and a sweet-faced Alicia Morton as Annie. The cast brims with talent (see story above).

Shake, Rattle & Roll (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): On surface, this miniseries is a love story of a young couple and a fictional band's rise in the early days of rock 'n' roll. At heart, this ambitious project explores the influence of rock on American society, with music from legends such as B.B. King and Bob Dylan. Concludes Wednesday.

The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns (NBC, 9-11 p.m.): Randy Quaid stars as an American businessman who is drawn into the world of fairies in Ireland. Whoopi Goldberg, Roger Daltrey, Colm Meaney, and Kieran Culkin star in the two-part fantasy that concludes Monday (see story above).

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (ABC, 9-10 p.m.): The surprise hit of the summer returns for a 15-night run. Contestants must answer a total of 15 questions correctly for $1 million. The show also runs for one hour Monday and Saturday, and for 30 minutes Tuesday through Friday.

The X-Files (Fox, 9-10 p.m.): The series about aliens and government plots airs its seventh season premire (a two-parter). Scully tries to unravel a mystery in West Africa to save Mulder, who's gone mad. A spooky episode (see story, page 18).

PICK OF THE WEEK

Not for Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony (PBS, 8-9:30 p.m.): Ken Burns may be an amateur historian by his own account, but the clean professionalism of his films - a combination of interviews, rare archival footage, photographs, and narration - is always remarkable. This time he takes on the two great friends whose legacy is the right to vote for women. Concludes Monday.

MONDAY 11/8

Intimate Portrait: Natalie Merchant (Lifetime, 7-8 p.m.): The popular folk singer, formerly of the group 10,000 Maniacs, shares her story of growing up in upstate New York and how her music career evolved. The profile also offers a sneak preview of five songs on her new album.

THURSDAY 11/11

Mystery! (PBS, 9-10:30 p.m.): Diana Rigg, the appealing series host, plays Adela Bradley, an amateur sleuth, in "The Mrs. Bradley Mysteries." Mrs. Bradley investigates an accidental drowning on a 1920s English country estate, But is it really an accident? Mrs. B. is at her best when she talks to the camera with witty insights.
