Roofing checkup

Don't let a leak be your first clue that something is wrong with your roof. An annual inspection of your roof will help detect problems before they become serious.

Warning signs to look for:

*Black areas and cracking shingles on an asphalt or slate roof.

*Cracks, gaps, and missing or broken caulking around chimney, flashing, and vents.

*Missing, curled, or broken shingles.

*Water damage on overhangs and the "valleys" where water runs off the roof.

*Stained or discolored spots on ceilings or walls inside the house.
