Take a bite out of crime
Wake up the neighbors - it's time to help prevent crime. On Aug. 3, neighborhoods across the United States celebrate National Night Out, an occasion to heighten crime-prevention awareness and promote police-community partnerships. Last year, 31 million people in 9,420 communities joined in the event. Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front-porch vigils, neighborhoods celebrate the night with activities such as block parties, cookouts, and contests.
