The habits of crows

Having heard them more often

than we've seen them,

we're surprised at their great size.

Small eagles who eat large grapes,

there is more stubborn, insistent energy

than we'd supposed. Executives

of the moist grass, they pace along

the shadowed paths of the deserted park,

diplomats who have no time

for our half-heartedness.
