Dusk Watch

At dusk the winds play

with cottonwood leaves,

causing a tremolo to start

high up on one branch,

shift to a lower one,

then send the whole tree

in intimate motion,

as if the tree had waited

all day long

for a sunset wind,

for this joining of

motion and joy.
