Anti-mine Crusader

I commend you on the article "One Man's Crusade to Destroy Mines" (April 29). Mr. Tomita has nothing to gain personally except the ability to help save innocent children and other civilians from the tragedies of land mines.

The world debate on the use of land mines continues without much progress, and it is very encouraging to know that an individual and his company are willing to forge ahead around the obstacles and doubt expressed by deminers and world militaries.
