Connie Chung Eyes Future as Journalist and Mom

With a coming fellowship, a news program slated with her husband, Maury Povitch, and motherhood, broadcast journalist Connie Chung has a full line-up for the next couple of years.

A full-time mom since she left CBS in 1995, Ms. Chung appeared on her husband's show, "The Maury Povitch Show," last month to discuss the son they adopted 19 months ago. "Without a question, I think Matthew has made the world of difference in our lives - and we are just so happy," she says.

And starting next semester at the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard University, Chung will join 12 "seasoned scholars and practitioners" to research and write based on her experience as a journalist.

Chung is also anticipating her new show, produced by DreamWorks SKG, which is an early evening version of "Nightline." The couple will wait until Mr. Povitch's contract runs out on his show before they start airing in 1998. The show is currently without a name.
