WORTH NOTING ON TV

* TUESDAY

The Nixon Interviews With David Frost: 1994 Special Edition (The Disney Channel, 9-10:35 p.m.): Some viewers saw it all 17 years ago, some have seen excerpts since then, and some have never seen any of it. But all viewers may find something of interest in this fascinating and sometimes painful interview series, which is being re-aired in its entirety for the first time since 1977.

In his deceptively chatty, low-key British manner, Frost takes the former president through the events leading up to his then-still-recent resignation. This packaging includes new introductions by Frost to each segment, and footage not aired originally has been added at the end of each session.

It's a marathon series, and you may not choose to sit through all of it, but as one of television's more revealing and memorable events it is worth a second look. (The remaining four programs air each Tuesday through August, beginning at 9 p.m.) * WEDNESDAY

Live From Lincoln Center (PBS, 8-10 p.m., EDT): Quite a session is promised for this edition of the concert series, ``Jazz at Lincoln Center With Wynton Marsalis.'' Aired live from the Alice Tully Hall in New York's Lincoln Center, the evening offers a program of traditional jazz and some new compositions performed by jazz artists whose names ring down recent jazz history.

Classical-jazz trumpeter Marsalis is joined by two other renowned trumpeters - Doc Cheatham and Art Farmer. The other guests are saxophonists Joe Henderson, Gerry Mulligan, and Benny Golson, and clarinetist Dr. Michael White. It's viewers' last shot for some time at the ``Live From Lincoln Center'' format, which won't be seen again until next January.

Meanwhile, however, some stations will offer a companion piece called ``Backstage/Lincoln Center'' - a half-hour visit with Marsalis, who is a jazz historian as well as performer. He'll discuss the roots of jazz and screen performance clips from some of the great past musicians of the genre. (Some local stations may air this feature at a separate time.)
