PRO GOLFERS AREN'T CHEAP

Want famed golfer Arnold Palmer to show up for a corporate event? It will cost $50,000, says Jerry Tarde, editor of Golf Digest. In the January issue, Mr. Tarde lists the current outing fees for pro golfers, comparing them to fees for other celebrities.
For example, golfer Phil Mickelson charges the same amount for a one-day appearance as singer Ella Fitzgerald - $30,000 plus expenses. Golfer Greg Norman gets $75,000, compared to $25,000 for Norman Schwarzkopf. Golfer Payne Stewart and former president Jerry Ford are both available for $20,000.
