A wavering V of Canada geese sweeps low above the highway, then, ascending, (voices, smoke-thin, echoing) angles south. In the breakdown lane, one goose-fat pillow cushion, blown from some hemp-cinched U-Haul mountain, (swollen now with winter rains) makes no move toward home.
