POLAND REVEALS CRIME COVERUP

The Solidarity-led government accused the top leadership of the former Communist regime of covering up an international crime ring run by Polish intelligence agents. Officials said Wednesday that the Communist Party Politburo headed by Gen. Wojciech Jaruzelski, who is now state president, quashed proceedings against the crime ring in 1985 after Interior Ministry investigators had recommended prosecutions.
