SUNDAY The Woman He Loved (CBS, 9-11 p.m.): (Drama previewed at right.) Dear America: Letters Home From Vietnam (HBO/pay cable, 9-10:30 p.m.; also April 12, 17, 20, 25, 30, check times): Poignant multimedia portrait of the Vietnam experience as seen through the eyes of veterans' letters home. Mario Puzo's `The Fortunate Pilgrim' (NBC, 9-11 p.m.; also Monday 8-11 p.m.): (Miniseries previewed at right.) David Copperfield (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): ``Masterpiece Theatre'' presents Part 2 of a new five-part production of Dickens's classic. The Unruly Dragon (ABC, 10-11 p.m.): Unique documentary voyage into the culture and traditions of the people who live along China's Yellow River. Martin Luther King Jr.: A Tribute by William Warfield (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): A tribute to the civil rights leader on the 20th anniversary of his assassination.

MONDAY Prehistoric Man (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): ``Discoveries Underwater'' uncovers some of the earliest human remains. Japan (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): Premi`ere of four-part in-depth look at Japan. Martin Luther King: A Life and a Legacy (PBS, 10-11:30 p.m.): A Thames TV update on whether Dr. King's dreams have been realized.

TUESDAY Poison and the Pentagon (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): ``Frontline'' investigates the Pentagon's record for cleaning up its pollution. Elizabeth Bishop: One Art (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): ``Voices and Visions'' presents the works of poet Bishop.

WEDNESDAY The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour (CBS, 8-9 p.m.): Tom and Dick are back again in a regular spot. Fires of the Mind (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): ``The Infinite Voyage'' delves into the development of human intelligence. Journey Into Genius (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): ``American Playhouse'' celebrates the Eugene O'Neill centennial with a biographical portrait of young Eugene. Thy Kingdom Come ... Thy Will Be Done (PBS, 10-11:30 p.m.): Two companion documentaries on the Christian fundamentalist right.

THURSDAY Rumpole and the Official Secret (PBS, 9-10 p.m.): ``Mystery'' presents still another new episode with that irascible ``old darling.''
