President of Ford replacing retiring chairman next year

Ford Motor Chairman Philip Caldwell will retire in February and Ford president Donald Petersen will replace him, the company said Monday. Mr. Caldwell replaced Henry Ford II as chairman in 1980. Ford was family-owned until 1956.

Harold Poling, chief of Ford's North American operations, will succeed Petersen.
