Sniffing a 50-state victory, Reagan talks of 'realignment'

President Reagan said Tuesday the 1984 campaign could mark the beginning of ''an historic electoral realignment'' in American politics. As his campaign staff set its sights on an unprecedented 50-state victory, Mr. Reagan told a gathering of Republican leaders at the White House he believed that on election day ''we will see a large number of (Democratic) voters joining our Republican ranks for the first time."
