''Honduras, others seeking changes in Contadora plan

Honduran Foreign Minister Edgardo Paz Barnica said Tuesday his country as well as Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala are seeking changes in the Contadora peace proposals. He refused say whether the call for revisions was prompted by the United States or whether the changes were a condition for signing the pact.

He said the plan should be revised to include a timetable for arms reduction in Central America, setting specific dates for the withdrawal of foreign advisers from the area, and the scaling down of military forces. He added that all Central American countries except Nicaragua also wanted ''a mechanism for international verification and control in political matters ... to ensure that electoral processes in the region are a true demonstration of popular will.''
