Pope, ending Canadian visit, calls for new vision of peace

Pope John Paul II, speaking to Canada's new government, called for a new vision of world peace and an end to the arms race. The Pontiff told Prime Minister Brian Mulroney that mankind needed a change of heart to resolve its conflicts. ''Peace begins in our own hearts,'' said the Pontiff, who concluded his 12-day marathon pilgrimage around Canada yesterday.
