Israeli Labor Party given new setback

Efforts by Israel's opposition Labor Party to form a narrowly based coalition government were set back Thursday night when two small parties turned down invitations to join it. Both the Tami party and the National Religious Party said they informed Labor Prime Minister-designate Shimon Peres that they would only support a broadly based national-unity government.
