Vietnam withdraws part of its Kampuchea force

About 3,000 Vietnamese soldiers returned home Saturday as Hanoi began a partial withdrawal of its estimated 180,000 troops in Kampuchea (Cambodia). Hanoi described the ceremony as the first stage of a partial pullout of three brigades of Vietnamese troops. Informed sources have said the withdrawal, to be completed by the end of this month, would affect about 10,000 Vietnamese soldiers stationed in Kampuchea.
