Japan will not send its crews to Persian Gulf

Japanese shipowners announced Saturday they would temporarily stop sending Japanese-crewed tankers to ports on the northern coast of the Persian Gulf. The decision by the Japan shipowners association followed a missile attack on Thursday on the Chemical Venture, a 29,000-ton Liberian registered tanker under charter to a Japanese shipping company.
