Highes than expected GNP for first quarter of 1984

The nation's economy grew at a robust rate of 8.8 percent in the first three months of the year as the enduring strenght of the recovery continued to surprise the experts. The Commerce Department Friday once again revised upward its projections of growth from January to March.
