In a photo caption that accompanied a story that ran on Page 3 Wednesday, Gerald Diederich, superintendent of the La Salle County (Ill.) Nuclear Station, was misidentified.
Also, an article on page B17 of the Jan. 20 Personal Finance pullout section stated that children must pay tax on gifts of money or stock. In fact, the donor would pay the tax, and only on that part of the gift over $10,000 per year. The Monitor regrets the error.
