Union leader in Bell strike unexcited about mediator

The leader of the Communications Workers of America, who are on strike against the Bell telephone system, says he sees no benefit in bringing in a federal mediator, though there has been no progress toward ending the walkout. Glenn Watts represents 525,000 of the nearly 700,000 workers who struck the phone company Sunday for better job security and wages. The mediator was appointed by another of the striking unions.
