West Germany's passport to give way to EC papers

West Germany is becoming the first country with sufficient faith in Europe to replace its national passport with the European Community passport. Under a Cabinet decision, the change is to come in 1985. The European passport will be valid for 10 years. And European citizenship will cost three times as much as West German citizenship: $12 rather than $4.
