Discovery of new particle confirmed by researchers

Leaders of an international research team confirmed they have found a key subnuclear particle. The ''Z-zero'' particle was discovered in experiments at the European Center for Nuclear Research in Geneva.

The confirmation follows the discovery by the same team of the W particle, which was announced earlier this year. The findings are significant because they add weight to the idea that a single theory can be found to explain all forces in nature. The two discoveries will likely merit a Nobel Prize in physics.
