Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

Mankind's problems stem from the decline of religion, said Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Accepting the Templeton Award in London, the exiled Soviet writer criticized Marxism for its hatred of God. But he added that the West had been in trouble ever since the meaning of life ''ceased to stand for anything more lofty than the pursuit of happiness.''
