Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

A libel verdict against the Washington Post was overturned by federal district Judge Oliver Gasch. He said there was no evidence of malice in a Post article about Mobil president William P. Tavoulareas, who initially had won a jury award of $2.05 million for libel.
