The 1986 Moskvich is eagerly awaited in the Soviet Union - the first new mass-produced Soviet passenger car in 13 years. At least, the government is eager. At present Soviets have the choice of only four basic types of car and there are long waiting lists for all of them - except the Moskvich, regarded as unreliable. The car will reportedly be totally redesigned.
