O'Neill says jobs bill will pass House soon

House Speaker Thomas P. O'Neill said a $4.6 billion jobs bill will pass the House and go to the Senate by the middle of next week. Mr. O'Neill said he is satisfied with the compromise with President Reagan - although the scope of the emergency bill was nowhere near what needs to be done. The compromise is slightly larger than the original $4.3 billion Reagan package.
