Philippine's Marcos names likely successor

Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos named his prime minister as his likely successor, affirming that his wife, Imelda, would not take the job. He said the ruling party had agreed to support Cesar Virata, who is also finance minister. For months there had been speculation that the controversial Mrs. Marcos might take over.
