Greek Communists join protest on US aid plan
Athens — Greek Communists joined the Socialist government's protest against increased United States aid to Turkey. The White House outraged public opinion here last week by proposing nearly a doubling of military aid to Turkey to $755 million in 1984, plus $179 million in economic aid. The proposal kept military aid to Greece at the 1983 level of $280 million. The aid controversy is emerging as a central issue in US-Greek talks on the future of Greece's four American bases.
