Correction

A Nov. 29 article about the recent election in the Republic of Ireland described the Irish Constitution as pledged to ''support all the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.'' The specific article of the Irish Constitution that recognized the special, privileged position of the Catholic Church was in fact repealed by a public referendum in 1972.
