Palestine teen-ager killed in a West Bank protest

An Israeli civilian shot and killed a Palestinian teen-ager here during rock-throwing demonstrations protesting the Beirut massacre. Two other youths were wounded in the clash. The boy was the 12th Palestinian fatally shot here since Israel's dismissal of West Bank Palestinian mayors in March.

In Lebanon, Israeli jets flew mock air raids over the Bekaa Valley while Israeli tank forces there were reinforced. Syrian and Palestinian gunners fired on the planes from the ground, but none were reported downed. And an Israeli military truck blew up in the Lebanese port of Sidon, injuring one soldier.

In Jerusalem, the official Israeli commission of inquiry into the Palestinian massacre in Beirut suspended testimony to begin sorting evidence presented by five witnesses, including Defense Minister Ariel Sharon.
