Avon came calling in China Wednesday.
Culminating three years of negotiations and product testing, executives announced that Avon had become the first Western companies to enter the domestic Chinese cosmetic market. The result, if production goals are met, is that 2 million women may soon be wearing ''Love Fragrance'' facial cream jointly produced by Avon and the Peking No. 4 factory of Chemicals for Daily Needs.
