Argentine economy chief gives up Cabinet post

Jose Maria Dagnino Pastore, Argentine economics minister, resigned and is being temporarily replaced by Public Works Minister Conrado Bauer, a presidential spokesman said Tuesday.

In his letter of resignation to the president, Mr. Dagnino Pastore said he had been unable to fulfill his mission of reconciling the various interests at play within the Argentine economy.
