An Aug. 11 article in the Monitor incorrectly referred to the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee as ''a registered lobby for a foreign government.'' These organizations and their individual members, and not the government of Israel, provide direction for the committee. Funding comes exclusively from American Jewish sources.
